The head of the Leadership Council of El Pajal took me to see a local evangelical church that had suffered severe damage during a storm. The building is massive—two stories tall, beautiful in both structure and spirit—but it had endured significant weather damage that left the floors, walls, and electrical systems in need of repair.As I walked through the church, I was in awe. Not only because of the space itself, but because of the story behind its restoration. The Leadership Council shared that the community didn’t wait for outside help. Instead, they came together, raised their own funds, and took ownership of repairing their church. Every marble slab, every repaired wall, and every newly wired light stands as a testimony to their faith, unity, and resilience.

This week, I had the incredible privilege of meeting my sponsored child, Emely Daiany Martínez Domingo, in the community of El Pajal, Guatemala—an experience that words can hardly capture. It was my first ever mission trip, and I came with an open heart, ready to serve, to learn, and to connect. But nothing could have prepared me for the joy, the tears, and the overwhelming sense of gratitude that came from this encounter.I was so nervous and anxious to meet Emely. You could tell she was too—her face showed both surprise and shyness when she saw me for the first time. I, of course, started tearing up as I went to give her a hug, and the genuine smile she gave me warmed every bit of my soul.

High in the mountains of Guatemala, the community of El Pajal has taken a major step toward a brighter future. After years of difficult access to water, 288 families now have safe, drinkable water right in their homes—a milestone that is transforming daily life.This achievement was made possible through the dedication of the local community, their deep faith in God, and the invaluable partnership with 410 Bridge. Together, they worked hand in hand to make safe water a reality.

In the rural community of El Pajal, Guatemala, education has long faced an uphill battle. For many teachers and students, the lack of basic classroom materials isn’t just a challenge—it’s a daily reality. Imagine trying to learn math without a notebook or teach a reading lesson without any books. For children in El Pajal, this is far too familiar.Teachers in this community are deeply committed to their students. Many have gone as far as spending their own limited income on supplies, determined to give their students the chance to learn and grow despite the odds. But the burden shouldn't fall on them alone.That’s where the 410 Bridge community—and your support—steps in.

This February, a team of staff members from Guatemala, the United States, and the Dominican Republic gathered for a memorable Trips Summit. Our mission? To prepare the Dominican Republic to host mission teams, grow stronger as a unified team, and brainstorm ways to make each mission trip a truly transformational experience—for both the communities we serve and the teams that visit.

Over the course of more than forty missionary trips in Guatemala, we shared God’s Word and experienced deeply emotional moments where His presence was undeniable. The hearts of missionary groups, community leaders, translators, and even our team were touched as we worked together to uplift these communities. It has truly been a year of transformation.
