About La Nueva

La Nueva Independencia, which means “The New Independence” in Spanish, was named after the community’s successful separation from the neighboring community of Chiantla, a process that took more than a decade to complete between 1995 and 2005. Coffee is the community’s primary crop, while some residents work as electricians and blacksmiths. The community is known for its close-knit families who support one another, with many mothers caring for their households.

Since partnering with 410 Bridge in 2018, La Nueva Independencia has focused on strengthening education, supporting children’s spiritual development through Bible camps, repairing water tanks, and equipping local leaders to better serve their community.

Sponsor Community

When you sponsor the community through 410 Bridge, you support programs and projects that allow the people to fix their own unique set of barriers. Every chance we get, we want to empower and lift up people to recognize that God has given them giftings and skills to move their communities forward to a better and more self-sustaining place.

Sponsoring the community, whether for $18, $23, $35, or more a month, allows for this to happen
