Kahuria Community Update

During this time in history, the world is experiencing opportunities to innovate how we serve and love one another. Thanks to the generosity of our partners and the dedication and creativity of the Kahuria Leadership Council and the 410 Bridge staff, there is an abundance of good work being done in Kahuria to care for each community member. Perhaps most surprising is the effectiveness of a simple megaphone to help educate community members on sanitation, handwashing, and social distancing, as well as dispelling misinformation on the Covid-19 virus and offer the hope of Christ.

Additionally, over 1100 at-risk individuals in Kahuria received the benefit of food distribution kits to relieve the food insecurity caused by the pandemic. Thank you to everyone who is contributing to the Covid-19 relief fund; these are your dollars at work in the lives of so many.

Please continue to pray for Kahuria in these specific ways:

  • For the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of the community
  • For the Leadership Council and churches as they guide their communities through this time
  • For rain, in just the right amount, during the planting season to yield crops that will help feed families in the community

Learnings From Kiu, Kenya

Our partnership with Kiu community started way back in 2009 making it one of the first communities to partner with the 410 Bridge since its inception in Kenya in 2006.

During our partnership journey, we walk alongside indigenous community leaders and church leaders as they mobilize and unify the community to participate in their own development – shifting their perspectives and owning the solutions.

Serving with Joy: A Week in Mutirithia, Kenya

If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Kenya, allow me to do my best to try to put into words what an incredible life-changing experience that you really need to do at least once in your life.

I was recently blessed to travel to Mutirithia, Kenya with an amazing group of 20 other Christian men to serve the families in that community over the course of a week.

We prepared for weeks to make sure everyone understood the primary objective of the trip, which was to build upon relationships already formed in the community and to spread the Word to as many people as we could.

Allow me to unfold a day-by-day glimpse of what we experienced:
