Women on the Bousquette, Haiti Leadership Council.
We asked these ladies 'Why is it so important to have women on the leadership council?'

They answered, "Life without women is like a home without light, that is what the leadership council here would be like without us. We have a voice and responsibility in our homes and in this community and need to give our input." #womensmonth #410ladyboss #internationalwomensday

Something we greatly value, above many things, at The 410 Bridge is relationships. When a service team crosses the bridge to visit a 410 community, the goal isn't to arrive with a bunch of plans that go around the leadership council of that community. Instead, its to connect, walk alongside, encourage, listen and love. We value people over projects. We are about connecting people together and brining two different world views closer to a biblical one. A few women from this Athens Church team connected with the women of Oban, Haiti for an honest sit down where they talked about many different things and left understanding each other's cultures and stories better. #Haiti #410bridge ...

Repost from our friend and staffer Anna Hickey
"I met Nelka yesterday in a primary school in Oban, Haiti. She told me she was 19 but only in class 5 with much younger children. She didn't have the opportunity to start school when other children her age did. When she finally had enough money and the chance, she took it without a second thought and certainly was not ashamed of being significantly older than all of her classmates. In honor of International Women's Day & Month, I wanted to share just a small glimpse of Nelka's story to encourage everyone out there, young, old and in between, that it's never too late to start something - To discover what you're passionate about and chase after it! #410ladyboss #internationalwomensday #womensmonth
