Dominican Republic Wins 2025: Growth

This past year has been one of momentum and answered prayer for our work in the Dominican Republic. As we look back on 2025, we see God’s hand clearly at work. Here are five milestones that shaped the year.

1. Strengthening Our Local Team

Everything we do in the D.R. depends on the dedication and leadership of our local staff. Early in the year, we recognized that our capacity to grow was limited simply because our team was too small. We prayed, asked for support, and trusted that God would provide the right people at the right time.

He did exactly that.

Throughout 2025, multiple qualified candidates stepped forward. Because of the generosity of our partners, we were able to bring several new full-time staff members onto the team. Morale is high, vision is rising, and we’re confident that this is only the beginning of what God will build through 410 Bridge in the D.R.

2. Launching the El Renacer Sponsorship Program

One of the most exciting developments this year was the launch of our sponsorship program with El Renacer School in Hato Mayor. More than 100 children were sponsored, and the ripple effects extended even further. Sponsorship funds supported school fees, teacher salaries, facility improvements, and a mid-day meal for students.

Because of this support, students now have the opportunity to attend school for a full eight hours a day instead of four. That expanded classroom time opens new doors for academic success, future opportunity, and long-term stability for families.

We still have more children in need of sponsorship! If you’d like to help, please click the button below.

3. Hosting 11 Mission and Vision Trips

Our team welcomed 11 mission and vision trips—more than any previous year. Each trip brought something unique to the communities we serve and to the trip participants who joined us.

GlobalX brought our first-ever student team. Sweathawgs and Aquatots contributed to major construction projects. Church of the Nativity and Prairie Lakes participated in a special joint trip.

These experiences strengthened relationships, encouraged our team, and helped us envision what future trips can mean for both sides of the bridge.

4. Growing Relationships in the Bateys

Some of the most urgent needs in the D.R. exist within the Bateys—communities of Haitian immigrants facing deep and generational challenges. We feel called to invest long-term in these areas, beginning with Batey Prudencio and Batey Jalonga.

This year, we were humbled by the welcome we received. From building public bathrooms in Prudencio to hosting baseball clinics in Jalonga to welcoming children from both communities to our on-property VBS programs, 2025 was full of meaningful steps toward deep partnership.

These relationships are the foundation for the long-term discipleship and community development we believe God wants to cultivate there.

5. Sharing Hope with Children

Very early in our journey in the D.R., it became clear that many of the most persistent challenges—violence, early pregnancy, and cycles of poverty—stem from a lack of mentors and positive role models for children.

This year, we invested intentionally in reversing that trend. We hosted VBS programs, ran sports clinics, and partnered closely with local coaches and pastors who care deeply about the next generation.

The result was powerful. More than 20 children professed new faith in Christ, and we connected each of them with mentors from within their own communities.

We believe these young lives will shape the future of their neighborhoods, families, and the nation.

Looking Ahead

2025 was a year of growth, deepening relationships, and unmistakable momentum. We’re grateful for God’s provision and for every partner who makes this work possible. The seeds planted this year are already beginning to bear fruit.

We can’t wait to see how hope continues to multiply in the Dominican Republic.

Why Our New Kiu Case Study Matters

Seeing real, long-term transformation is the heart of why we do community development. It’s one thing to launch programs or build infrastructure, but it’s entirely another to watch a community continue to grow and thrive on its own after we step back.

That’s why we now have a new Kiu case study — to show what sustainable, community-led development looks like when it really works.
