Vision Trips

Vision Trip Purpose:

The purpose of the Vision Trip is to help connect the US church and organization leaders with the very real needs of the communities we serve. The Vision Trip gives the trip participants an opportunity to meet the leadership of those communities and to see this new paradigm for missions in place and at work and to create an opportunity for them to see how they may be called to serve along with us and our Kenyan brothers and sisters.

Acts 20:35 In all these things I have shown you by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Vision Trip Focus:

The focus of all 410 Bridge Vision Trips is meet the leadership of the communities in which we serve. We work very hard to have the right leadership in place that understand the model which we feel called to follow. It is important for those on the Vision Trip to get a chance to meet the leadership that carries out that model. Our hope is that the leadership from the US churches and organizations will be moved to join The 410 Bridge to help in whatever way they feel called. Our ultimate desire is that out of these trips, the churches will want to build a long lasting relationship with a specific community by becoming a Community Partner. A Community Partner agrees to work in a specific community for: 1) an extended time (usually 3 years), 2) field teams of people from the church of a certain size (see Group Trips) and for a given number of trips per year (ranging from 1 trip to 5) and 3) financially support the community (This financial support can be a fixed amount each year over the multiyear commitment or it could be a percentage or tithe of a mission budget) These are just two examples and welcome discussing what this looks like for a church. The Community Partnerships help us in planning what we can accomplish in a particular community given the commitment of trips and finances in an effort to address the needs of a community.

Cost: Vision Trips generally cost $3,500 per person. This includes airfare, ground transportation, lodging, meals, a Kenya trip leader and a safari at the end of the trip. Because the number of people that participate in a Vision Trip may vary greatly, and there are higher costs for travel because we travel to several communities, the cost may be higher than $3,500 but we do everything to keep the costs as low as we can.

Vision Trip Team Projects:

There is typically not a project that is targeted for the people on a Vision Trip. Since we spend time traveling between several communities and do not spend any extended time in any one community, the focus is on meeting the leaders of the local communities and see how God may weave the needs of the communities in with the desire to serve in the hearts of those that go.
