March 9 2012 – March 15 2012
This team will provide a combination of activities for the hearing and deaf children and adults in the Haiti deaf community. This community is made of 168 families who were displaced from their homes after the earthquake. Approximately half of the residents are deaf. They are currently living in temporary homes constructed by the International Federation of the Red Cross. The 410 Bridge, our church partners and other foundations are building a permanent community for the deaf in an area called Leveque, which is a one hour drive from Port-au-Prince. As with all of our trips, the focus is on building relationships with the people we serve and using our gifts to administer God’s grace to those in need. You will have the opportunity to interact with local leaders, community members and many children throughout the trip.
Note: The cost is $1850 and includes ground transportation, breakfast, dinner, lodging and roundtrip airfare. The price for this trip indicates the projected cost dependent upon factors such as team size and flight prices. *The 410 Bridge age requirement for all Open Trips to Haiti is 14 years old (or in high school) and over.
