Ngaamba

Profile

The community of Ngaamba is struggling to find a sense of life in the middle of desperate situations. Not only do they have little access to the things that meet their daily needs like food and water, but they are now faced with larger issues in trying to help their community thrive. With disease and epidemics sweeping the nation of Africa as a whole, communities like Ngaamba find the need for medical training and facilities more pressing than ever. There are also a number of orphaned and street children in Ngaamba. The people of Ngaamba view the children as the future success of their community, but they currently have no facility to house or educate these children. Though the community has recently been taken on by Compassion International and is now in the beginning stages of registration and sponsorship for local families, there still remains a number of children who need help.

Most of the spiritual influence in Ngaamba comes from the Anglican Church of Kenya located within the 3,000-member community. Along with ten other local churches, the Anglican Church in Ngaamba is a member of the Pastor’s Fellowship. This committee is comprised of leaders from these ten churches who meet together to discuss the struggles in their community and work together to strategize and cast vision that will help meet the needs of their people. These leaders possess a rare vision: they understand why the hearts of their people are dry and hope that a partnership with the 410 Bridge will allow them to begin taking action to change the hearts and attitudes of the community. A partnership with Ngaamba means taking part in making this vision for transformation a reality for the community.
