Service Trips
Service Trip Purpose:
We aim to provide an outlet for the body of Christ, American and Kenyan, to serve one another and use their gifts to administer God’s grace in its various forms.
The 410 Bridge service trips are grounded in using the gifts that God has given us to further His kingdom. God uses these trips to change the lives of people in Africa, but also to transform the hearts and minds of the American church through service to His Kingdom. Even though teams go to serve, they inevitably end up receiving more blessings than they could ever give.
Acts 20:35 In all these things I have shown you by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Service Trip Focus:
The focus of all 410 Bridge service trips is the people we serve. Whatever we do, we want it to be a collaborative effort benefiting God’s Kingdom. Service trips are not a humanitarian effort to give “aid” to the people in our communities. We design our short-term service activities and experience to be relationally focused, grounded in scripture, and culturally appropriate with the intent of bearing spiritual fruit that is honoring to our Heavenly Father.
Cost: Service Trips generally cost $3,500 per person. This includes airfare, ground transportation, lodging, meals, Kenya trip leader and a safari at the end of the trip.
Service Team Projects:
Service team projects are determined by the Kenyan community leadership councils and are based on the greatest needs in the community at the time the team is there. Specific details on service projects will be provided to each team leader before the trip departure date. (The 410 Bridge will provide this information as soon as possible, but often times the details of these projects are not available until close to departure dates as projects are constantly progressing and changing in the communities.) The focus of service trips is relationships and pre- trip training should focus on this with the details of the projects and itinerary as secondary
