Location: 

Michura is a community of about 1,500 people in a mountainous area overlooking Lake Victoria near the 410 Bridge Community of Kandaria. The terrain can be rugged with many exposed rocks but is a very beautiful place with numerous trees and green areas.

Michura is one of the newest 410 Bridge communities and was introduced to us by the Leadership Council in Kandaria. Michura is a very poor community but is known for the metal working (blacksmith) skills of the men. The community makes hoes and other metal farm tools and exports them to a variety of communities in western Kenya.

Their top priority is water. And plans are underway to develop a very large water harvesting and storage project. This will give the community a reliable source of water, especially in the dry season.

Other proposed projects include additional classrooms and renovation at Michura Primary, Pastors training and medical mission teams.
