Community Meeting Tent & Chairs

If you have ever been to Kwambekenya, you know that it rains a lot. A LOT! The community is in need of a tent and chairs for community-wide gatherings. The tent will be spacious enough to hold 100 occupants. The cost of the tent is approximately $1,250. The cost of 10 plastic chairs is approximately $750.
Daniel Maina Kanyiri: Training license - Funded

Daniel Maina Kanyiri is a 23 year-old single male. He assists the efforts of his parents in taking care of the family, however, they are unable to provide for all the basic needs. Currently, he works as a casual laborer in the community.
He requests $270.00 to obtain a training license which will enable him to look for a higher paying job that will provide the additional income necessary to meet the needs of the family and eventually his own family when he gets married.

The Community Council has requested a small plot of land to be leased for her to farm to feed her children and to get an income. Proposed; 2 acres of land @ 4000 each per year for 2 yrs, start up seeds i.e. Potatoes, Cabbage and carrots valued at Ksh 15,000. Total required to support her = Ksh 31,000.
Ruth Muthoni – Farming

Ruth Muthoni is a single mother of 10 children. She is without land and therefore she has no source of income. The Leadership Council in Kwambekenya has requested a land to be leased for her to farm to generate an income and to feed her children. The Leadership Council has proposed a lease of two acres of land at approximately $75 / year for for two years, start up seeds (Potatoes, Cabbage and Carrots) valued at $225.
Simon Njenga – URGENT Eye Operation

URGENT!! Simon Njenga is an orphan with an eye complication that requires a scan and operation. The 410 Bridge was recently notified that Simon is in urgent need of medical attention according to the doctor treating him. His eye problem is getting worse and will ned to be removed if the operation is not done as soon as possible The leadership Council in Kwambekenya has ask this issue to be given priority to assist the boy who is now out of the school. He is living with poor relatives who cannot afford the medical fee. The support needed is to assist with finances to undergo the required medical test and operation.
Wanjiku Nuhu: Uterus Surgery

Mary is a single mother of eight children. She lost her husband and has continued raising her eight children single-handedly. Mary owns a farm of about an acre that can hold dairy cows for milk that she can tend and then join the local small-scale farmers co-operative that will market her product and pay her income. All of her children are in school and the school fees has eaten into everything that she had. Her children need their fees paid for and a steady source of food, which income from the dairy would provide.
Gidraph Kamau Kahacho: Medical Bill

Gidraph is a husband, a father of five and a foster father of two. He has been continuously ill from chronic chest infection that requires continuous medication. Medical reports indicate that he has been on medication but will need to continue using it. Due to Gidraph’s continued medication, the family has suffered because his bills have eaten into his income. His wife is a very active member of the Kwambekenya community and leadership council and is unemployed. She needs relief from medical concerns so that she can attend to the family needs.
Jecinta Muringo Mugo: Dairy Cow and a House

Jecinta is the wife of the late David Mugo who was the Kwambekenya Community Representative. She is a single mother of two children and for whom a piece of land has been purchased. She is still living at her in-laws for lack of money to build a house of her own. She also lacks a steady income to be able to steadily care for her children. A house would help her settle on her own and will help her move on. The dair cow will help her get a steady income.
