Founded in 2003 by Joseph Kamau.

Location

Githurai – A northwest suburb 1-hour drive from Nairobi central

Description

The relationship with Havilla and The 410 Bridge is a unique one. Home to nearly 50 children, including many members of the 2007 and 2008 Daraja Children’s Choir of Africa, Joseph Kamau and his wife, Salome, started their ministry to orphaned children early in their marriage when they were moved to take in a child who was living on the streets. Moved by compassion and love, they are now the proud parents to almost 50 children and desire to expand the home to house 100 children. In late 2007 Joseph found out that they would have to move the home to a different piece of property due to family inheritance issues. New land was acquired and the children’s home will relocate after a new home is completed in early 2009. Construction on the home began in mid 2008 and is scheduled for completion in early 2009. The new home will house up to 64 children. Thanks to the 410 Bridge partners for making this happen.
