Ereri
Location:
Approximately 4½ hours north of Nairobi and about one hour north of the equator near the town of Nanyuki. Ereri is adjacent to Endana.
Description:
During the British Colonial times, several European families occupied the area around Endana. Several large ranches and game preserves in the area provided job opportunities for people from various local tribes that reside in the area. Some ranches remain, but the local Kenyans have settled in a number of communities in the area.
Ereri is home to multiple tribes including Samburu, Turkana and Masai people. It is a very arid area mostly used for livestock grazing. The Gospel has not been widely shared here so the area offers many ministry opportunities.
Bibles were distributed, however, to the entire area in 2011.
A project was also started in 2011 to bring water from Endana to Ereri and is scheduled for completion in late 2012.
To further develop education, a nursery classroom and a classroom block for the primary school is also scheduled for completion in 2012.
Several medical teams have visited the region over the past 3 years.
