Description:
The region around Fond Baptiste is well known within Haiti for the beautiful landscape. The rich soil that exists there is great for growing all sorts of agriculture, including the famous Haitian Bleu coffee. The 410 Bridge was introduced to the community of Fond Baptiste through a partner church in the U.S. who knew of a Haitian national serving in the area. The leaders in Fond Baptiste are eager to begin the journey of development as a 410 Bridge partner community. They are working hard to define their vision for their community and a plan for how to achieve that vision. The community has many obvious needs including access to safe water, quality education, and training of local pastors and leaders. The local church in Fond Baptiste has a strong presence with nearly 70% of community involved in a church, yet most pastors lack solid biblical training and greatly struggle to lead their congregations. The first priority in Fond Baptiste is investing in the leadership capacity of the local leaders and helping to develop a strong council that can lead the community by uniting and mobilizing it’s people towards a common vision.
